In this contemporary house located in Luxembourg, the owners wanted to give their facade a neat, uniform, and durable appearance.
Over time, the weather, climate variations, and natural wear had altered the exterior aesthetics. The facade showed microcracks, dirt, and an uneven finish that gave an aged look to the whole.
The project's objective was clear:
- Renovate and restore the existing supports
- Modernize the exterior aesthetics
- Enhance the property sustainably
The site was entrusted to Avenir Rénovations, with a dedicated Project Manager ensuring complete coordination of interventions and rigorous follow-up on finishes.
Avenir Rénovations' expertise in a facade renovation in Luxembourg
Step 1: Diagnosis and preparation of supports
Before any intervention, a complete diagnosis of the facade was carried out. The analysis focused on the condition of the existing coatings, the presence of cracks, any areas of detachment, as well as sensitive points around the joinery and the bases.
The supports were then thoroughly cleaned to eliminate dirt, moss, and pollution traces. The cracks were opened, purged, and then treated with suitable solutions to ensure the longevity of the renovation.
Particular care was taken with the corners, window frames, and junctions with masonry elements to guarantee a healthy and perfectly prepared base.
This phase is crucial: the quality of a renovation primarily depends on the meticulous preparation of the supports.
Step 2: Repair and restoration of degraded areas
The weakened areas were restored with mortars suitable for the nature of the support. Irregularities were corrected to achieve a flat and uniform surface.
The window sills and supports were reworked to ensure a clean finish consistent with the contemporary architecture of the house.
The goal was to ensure perfect visual continuity while enhancing the durability of the treated surfaces.
Step 3: Application of the new finishing coat
A mineral coating in an off-white shade was applied in several passes to achieve a uniform and elegant finish.
This choice of finish allows for:
- Immediately modernizing the exterior appearance
- Durably protecting the facade against the elements
- Maintaining good breathability of the support
The light shade highlights the contemporary lines of the building and creates a harmonious contrast with the dark joinery.
The troweling and finishing work was carried out with precision to ensure an aesthetic result that meets Luxembourg standards.
Step 4: Finishes and site handover
Before delivery, a complete inspection was conducted. Alignments, junctions, and connections were carefully checked.
The rainwater downpipes were adjusted if necessary to ensure an aesthetically coherent integration with the new facade.
Every detail has been validated by the Project Manager to ensure a polished result that meets the owners' expectations.
A modernized and enhanced façade
At the end of the work, the house benefits from a completely renovated façade, more homogeneous and visually contemporary.
The façade not only beautifies the property but also protects it sustainably against external aggressions.
The façade regains its primary role: to enhance the architecture and strengthen the qualitative image of the property.
